Give me the SUNSHINE

Wow wee the sweet smells of spring are in the air, my run this morning was truly energising and so post Affordable Art Fair I am raring to go. The new work was really well received so I need to get on with some more work! I am not complaining, my studio in this weather is just great... I have started a course in screen printing on fabric and this week I bought my first attempt home. Not sure what I am going to do with it but can't wait to get going again after the easter break

Spring Affordable Art Fair Battersea 2012

Lanterns & Honesty
153x76cm
Wow wee this weather is such beautiful and delicate thing it really does the trick for me.Work is being picked up for Affordable Art Fair in Battersea Park...It is a great feeling when it leaves to go to Battersea because you just know its going to get such a large audience something you cannot so easily guarantee when work goes out to a gallery. My paintings are being shown with Stark Gallery stand K8, the private view is on Wednesday and I will get my glad rags on and go and see whats going on in the world....

'Only golden days be thine'

'Only golden days be thine'

From time to time I find an old postcard that just has to be included in a painting, the messages on the oldies really date them...we just don't use these phrases anymore 'Only golden days be thine' this is the message I send out to the world today!!

'All the fun of the fair'

After finishing this painting yesterday feelings of excitement are beginning to stir. Its the thought of the new work going out into the world on its own and wondering how its going to be received. Even after all these years these feelings come back again and again...Its all the fun of the fair!
I am starting to write a new artist statement to accompany the new paintings. lately I am experiencing no boundaries between life and work, they seem so symbiotic so the perspective in this new work is a tool for drawing the viewer into the space so perhaps they can spend a short moment there.
This is quite a task when showing at the AAF as it can be so hectic and busy this is such a stark contrast to the space these paintings have been made.

Whats my title???

I have been working on my new collection of work for 'The Affordable Art Fair' Showing with Andrew Stark and along with some large canvas's I have made some smaller works on board which I have really enjoyed. This little one which is title less at the moment has by it's reception become the piece I am going to submit to the Royal Academy this year...any ideas for a title would be gratefully received.
